california are in fbi custody facing terrorism charges. the fbi says that group allegedly plotted what it calls a violent jihad to kill americans here and abroad. they were allegedly planning to join al qaeda and the taliban in afghanistan. now, the four suspects were arrested last friday. coming up at 5:10, we will have a live report from southern california with the latest on this current investigation. >>> 4:34. happening now, air strikes pummeled gaza overnight and rockets hit southern israel as secretary of state hillary clinton heads to that region today. we've got a live look at the gaza strip this morning. israel targeted 100 sites overnight, including terror tunnels and ammunition storage facilities. at least five palestinians were killed, ten wounded so far in those attacks. in response, gaza militants fired 60 rockets towards southern israel. in the meantime an israeli man with a knife and an ax attacked a security guard today at the u.s. embassy in tel aviv. the guard was slightly wounded in the leg but was able to file a warning shot in the air and catch the suspect. the s

experiment. california. it is called maryland. i don't see any reason why we do not wait two years and see how california is doing with their new higher marginal tax rates on folks. and sales taxes on middle income people as well. illinois raising income taxes and sales taxes and maryland's -- a millionaire's tax for those -- they cannot leave because they are federal workers -- and those making a million dollars and walk across the border. they are testing obama's theories in the states. i think they should do it on a small state like vermont first and see how it works. but they wanted to california so we are doing california. texas and florida will give you an idea of how you can govern without an income tax -- not a 13% income-tax. people move. the kind of know what will happen -- indiana passed right to work, cutting taxes, giving half the kids in the state school choice, a voucher, a scholarship of $5,000. illinois just raise taxes so as not to reform the government pension system. who is going to build a factory within 100 miles on the western side of that border? any takers for the

higher income states. california leads the way. if you go down the charge, the lowest states, indiana the lowest in terms of just what folks are getting in their homes in terms of added as -- itemized deductions. let's hear from the other gentleman we heard in that clip. [video clip] >> tax increases to chase after higher spending is a fool's errand. we need to have that balanced approach we have all been talking about, which is increasing revenues through a process of tax reform, then spending reductions. we've had four straight years of trillion dollars plus deficit. you cannot continue this and have economic vitality, which is what we need. host: anything there you want to respond to? guest: the federal government spends over $1.40 for every dollar it takes in. you cannot continue to do that without having a day of reckoning. we need comprehensive tax reform. we need a comprehensive approach to regaining control of the budget, social insurance reforms, defense and other spending reductions, and tax reform that will generate more revenues. i don't believe the word "balanced" is correct.

proposition 8 in california, 53% of latinos voted for proposition 8 in california. we are extremely conservative. we also have to understand there's a big difference between the old latino community of 20 or 30 years ago, the cesar chavez era, those in new york and those in the southwest since the u.s. to over parts of mexico, and then the new latino population that is 40% foreign- born, and the rest are children of immigrants, very conservative. when asked about the government they may give answers that are not extraordinary. sometimes we get tangled. we have seen this in this election cycle. on specific issues, if we had a better understanding on where they are coming from and a better understanding of why they're answering the questions that way. with the latino community i believe we lost the latino vote because of immigration. if we would've had a better position on immigration from the get go, from the primary, governor romney would been competitive and he would've been competitive in battleground states where the latino vote was decisive. finally, we have to stop being rockef
